Nate’s Wings and Waffles

Adventure to a uncharted neighborhood:  Rainier Beach, where Nate’s wings and waffles is located.

Northeast to Sea-Tac airport, it seems so far away from Seattle.

But, what is not to like about wings and waffles?

It was long overdue for us to check this place out.

Opened by famous basketball player, Nate Robinson, his jerseys are on display in the store.

Food offering is fairly simple: wings, chicken tenders and waffles for the most part, with sliders and sides.

Elevensies, Lunch and Suppers in Portland

Continuing on a Hobbit’s journey, we found some perfect places for Elevensies, Lunch and Suppers: Waffle Window, Pok Pok and Pine State Biscuits .


Waffle Window was my sister’s favorite in Portland, which also quickly became my father’s favorite too during his visits.

We had been going to place since they were a one-store shop at Hawthorn.

On an earlier stop at the Hawthorn shop, my sister suffered our first dissatisfaction ever at Waffle Window.

She received a very unsweetened plain pearl sugar waffle.

Maple Glazed Berbere Wings and Lost Lake Cafe


Spicy hot, these chicken wings were tasty, filled with salty, sweet and aromatic spices.

Smelled like berbere but tasted like curry, they were detox-approved and fairly healthy!



1.5 lb chicken wings

1 tsp salt

1 tsp berbere

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp celery seeds

maple syrup

Singapore Food Court

We stopped by Singapore twice in our trip, to and from Malaysia.

The taxi boarder crossing experience was very interesting.

There were MANY cars and motorcycles crossing the border and yet the lines moved really fast; it felt like an efficient chaos!

We were however, stuck in traffic, and took us about 1.5 hour which without traffic would have been 45 mins.

After we checked into the hotel the first time, we were looking for food again.

Since DH was on crutches due to leg injury, we did not go very far.

I ventured out to the infamous food court in the Mall.


We got this fantastically grilled chicken wings from the food court.
